She's producing a story with the Diné people of the Black Mesa reservation to help them record oral stories told by elders to pass on for future generations. Representing the voices that are striving to be heard is what drives her to work within the intersection of storytelling and critical theory.

As Manager of the University of Portland’s Film Department and an instructor, he’s also had the opportunity to share his wealth of skills and mentor young film makers. Charles Hyatt is a visionary storyteller with a passion for creating compelling videos that spotlight the vibrancy of his subjects through powerful interviews and engaging highlight reels. As the driving force behind Good News Jamaica Communications Ltd., Charles has cultivated a growing online presence, producing content that celebrates the positivity and resilience of Jamaicans worldwide. His YouTube channel, GoodNewsJamaicaTV, and Facebook page “Good News Jamaica” stand as testaments to his ability to connect with audiences and inspire through visual storytelling.
Charles's journey is rooted in a deep commitment to service—a theme he embraced from a young age, understanding his life's purpose is to help others realize their God-given potential. This ethos has guided him through a distinguished career in Information Technology, where he held senior roles at prestigious organizations like the Smithsonian Institute, the World Bank, and the United Nations.
In 2008, Charles returned to his homeland of Jamaica, where his passion for service took on new dimensions. He founded the Charles Hyatt Foundation in 2009, focusing on empowering youth to break through their perceived limitations and become creative thinkers. Through his media work, Charles continues to follow his passion for positivity, driven by his love for his family—his extraordinary wife Judith and his two remarkable children, Charles III - “The unstoppable” and Daniel - “The Great.”
Today, now living in Portland Oregon, Charles Hyatt’s work is a beacon of inspiration, reflecting his unwavering dedication to uplifting others and his commitment to showcasing the best of people through storytelling.
